When dogs let you know 'you're not the boss of me'
Never underestimate a puppy who likes her freedom
Whenever I hear people gasp and talk about bigger dogs like they’re so mischievous and rebelling against authority, I always wonder if they’ve ever been around small dogs. So far, I’ve walked 88 dogs and owned three more, and I have never seen any dog (breed doesn’t matter) rebel against authority more than small dogs — especially ones under 10 pounds.

As an Amazon affiliate, I earn a percentage from purchases with my referral links. I know some consumers are choosing to boycott Amazon for its DEI removal. However, after thinking about this thoroughly, I want to continue promoting cool products from small businesses, women-owned businesses and (specifically) Black-owned businesses who still feature their items on Amazon. As of the first date of Black History Month 2025, each new post will ALWAYS include a MINIMUM of one product sold by a Black-owned business. (I have visited the seller’s official site to verify that Amazon Black-owned logo.) I am (slowly) doing this with older, popular posts too. If you still choose to boycott, I 100% respect that decision.

Exhibit A: This is Jackie, my mother’s new Shih Tzu mix puppy. My mother is trying to crate train her and get her to stop peeing all over the carpet. She bought this playpen as an alternative, so Jackie would have more room to play. Watch the video to see how this worked out. And Jackie is one of many small dogs I’ve witnessed rebel against authority. You will not be the boss of handheld dogs.
