NEWS: Free pet vaccinations on South Side Chicago
PAWS Chicago will introduce its new traveling veterinary van

Chicago residents with dogs, if you live in ZIP codes 60609, 60621, 60636 or 60637, PAWS Chicago’s new mobile clinic van is ready to serve your pet today and Saturday. According to the official site, the mobile clinic will be servicing Englewood, West Englewood, Woodlawn and Back of the Yards with free basic veterinary care this weekend. The mobile clinic, donated to PAWS Chicago by the Banfield Foundation, will provide the following free services on Fri., July 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ogden Park, 6500 S. Racine Ave, and Sat., July 15, at Sherman Park, 1301 W. 52nd St.:
Antibiotics and medications
Diagnostic testing
Flea/tick and heartworm prevention
Microchipping
Physical exams
Vaccines
FREE veterinary assistance for dog illnesses include:
Coughing and sneezing
Decreased appetite
Diarrhea and vomiting
Ear and eye infections
Follow-ups
General wellness
Sick
Skin itchiness, redness, hair loss
Appointments are required beforehand by calling 773-217-9113. All pets must be spayed or neutered before the mobile van visits. For Chicago pet owners whose dogs have not already been spayed or neutered, that is also an option with PAWS Chicago by making a separate appointment here.
Shamontiel is a dog lover to her core: 536 completed walks with 95 dogs, eight dog-housesittings and six dog boardings at the time of this publication.
